ATLANTA, Ga. - The Morehouse College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will kick-off the Your Vote Is Your Voice voter registration initiative within the Maroon Tiger athletic department on Friday.

To kick-off the initiative the SAAC will welcome senior health business consultant, Ms. Yamiece Gilbert-Ashley of the New Georgia Project for a Zoom call with all student-athletes and athletic staff. Ms. Gilbert-Ashley offers a wealth of experience as he has a B.S. in Neuroscience with a concentration in Epidemiology from Vanderbilt University and an MPH from the Mercer University School of Medicine. The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness on the importance of exploring your right to vote, especially first-time voters.

Next week Morehouse student-athletes and staff will take part in the National Voter Education Week which will help them bridge the gap between registering to vote and actually casting a ballot.
