November 20, 2015 – Five Maroon Tigers scored in double figures lifting Morehouse to an 87-46 win over the Fisk University Bulldogs.

More than 2,100 fans showed up to watch the Maroon Tigers cruise to victory in the home opener. The margin of victory was the largest since Morehouse beat Oakwood University, November 18, 2013.

Because of the blowout, Coach Grady Brewer was able to showcase the full lineup of veteran experience and freshman talent. Eleven different Tigers scored at least two points, helping Morehouse improve to 3-0.

A layup by leading scorer Tyrius Walker put the Morehouse up 4-2 and the Maroon Tigers poured it on from there. Walker hit 6 of 10 shots, including two three-pointers, and finished with 16 points.

Freshman Omar Alston continued his rise to prominence, sinking all four of his shots from the field and 5 of 7 free throws, for 13 points. Proving he's not just a scorer, Alston grabbed seven a team-high seven rebounds, to go with two assists, two blocks and two steals.

Moving from a seldom-used reserve last season to a starter this year, Miodrag Minic showcased his improved talents, with 11 points and five rebounds. Minic, from Nis, Serbia, collected nine of his points and all of his boards in the first half, where Morehouse posted a 28-19 halftime lead.

Two of other Tiger freshmen making names for themselves contributed heavily to the Morehouse second-half runaway. Gerrell Dickson, who hauled in five rebounds, scored nine of his 12 points in the second half and Ayinde Russell posted all 10 of his points after the break.

Michael Hall led a Morehouse block party with four rejections, one more than the entire Fisk team. Hall chipped in nine rebounds and five rebounds.

The Morehouse defense swatted away 10 shots, forced 25 turnover and held the Bulldogs to 30 percent shooting.

Tyrone Brown, with six rebounds, and Chris Fontaine, with five rebounds, helped Morehouse compile a 45-38 rebounding advantage over the undersized Bulldogs. Brandon Glover dished out a game-high five assists and freshman Anthony Farrar scored four points and snagged three rebounds.

Morehouse will rest up until Tuesday, when the West Georgia Wolves invade Forbes Arena, at 7 p.m. The Maroon Tigers have lost six in a row to the Wolves, including last years' 101-78 loss, in Carrollton, GA.
