Maroon Tigers Rally, Fall Short Against Albany State

April 14, 2018 – ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers staged a last-inning rally, but fell a run short and lost, 8-7, to the Albany State Golden Rams, in the last home game of the season.  

It was the third straight loss to the Rams, who improved to 19-15; 10-4. Morehouse fell to 13-23; 4-10.

In his last home game as a Maroon Tiger, senior Jared Maner had a big game, going 3 of 4 four at the plate, with two runs batted in and a home run.

Senior Christian Griffith was 2 of 4, with a RBI and a run scored.

Morehouse will be off until Friday, when they travel to Greenville, S.C., to play in the HBCU Classic, an event of Jackie Robinson Day Celebration. The Maroon Tigers will play Clark Atlanta, as part of an SIAC doubleheader. The games will be played at Fluor Field, the home of the Greenville Drive, the Single A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Benedict and Claflin will play in the other game.

Morehouse will return, Saturday, for a doubleheader against Clark Atlanta, at the Panthers' home field in College Park, GA.
